What does the NPA mean for me and my child?

The NPA means that the protection of the rights of your child(ren) - and all children of South Africa - is a priority for the government. It means that those rights will be addressed by all areas of government: that money will be set aside in order to meet those needs. This will be done in practical ways through service delivery.

Government departments will work together to improve the services they deliver to South Africans. This could mean an education system which actively addresses the needs of HIV/AIDS children, or improved access to maternity hospitals for pregnant mothers.

The NPA means that government, NGOs and other stakeholders will work to create a dynamic social, political and economic environment so that all our children can grow up to be healthy and active adults.
